Visual Performance To tantalize Your Tired Choir Eyes January 15, 2011

Posted by joinchoir in Uncategorized.

The costume changes from multiple takes, the sex appeal of the young beautiful dancers that are not a singing part of the choir and the rhythmic accompaniment all come together to support this “new to me” musical style from Haiti. Wouldn’t you have loved to watch them film this! As my choir gets better at preparing materials for YouTube, I am learning lessons from great events like this one. Please comment if you know more about this style or video.

Racine Mapou De Azor – Kanaval 2009

I contacted emmanuel2008read and he had this to say about the video:
The title of the song is ” Yo san pitie ( they’re without mercy).” The genre is Haitian Roots in french they call it Racine. This type of music is link to Voodoo, which is one of the three most popular religions in Haiti.
Since the earthquake, it’s kind of hard to keep track of anything going on in Haiti. Last known publishers are Geronimo and TempoVideo.
